Elijah Bradford and Purpose Driven are a group of energetic and spirit filled singers that started singing together at Ebenezer Middle School in Dalzell, SC. At that time the group carried the name "The Sounds of Ebenezer" under the direction of Mrs. Patricia Waddell - a distinguished musician, Classical singer, and Science teacher.
Upon entering high school the students felt the need to continue this "good thing." After several of them went to administrators for assistance in cultivating a gospel choir they were denied. Still determined, they formed their own community choir consisting of about thirty students from Crestwood, Lakewood, and Camden high schools. The name was changed to "The Evangelistic Community Choir" under the direction of Elijah Bradford and Tia Campbell. They traveled from church to church in the community and abroad. As the members of the choir graduated from high school and persued their dreams of college and family life it became a great burden to find the time to rehearse and make engagements. Eventually they ceased to travel.
After returning from college Elijah saw the vision to reassemble the group, but this time with a greater purpose. He felt that he had grown and matured to a level of integrity and worship that was simply unbelievable. He selected key people to be a part of this vision, changed the name to Purpose Driven, and the rest is gospel history.
Purpose Driven now has three albums and two live dvd recording under their belt. Their approach is not focused on fancy grooves, but more about the message of the gospel to reach the masses.
